Contact of steel with food

Our pizza steel is the only one that guarantees safety in contact with food, this is confirmed by laboratory tests conducted by the State Sanitary Inspection.

In accordance with European requirements, marketed materials and products intended for food contact must meet the requirements of Regulation (EC) No. 1935/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27.10.2004 on materials and articles intended to come into contact with food and repealing Directives 80/590/EEC and 89/109/EEC (Official Journal L338/4 of 2004).

The provisions of Regulation 1935/2004 stipulate that materials and articles intended to come into contact with food must be sufficiently inert:

  • so as not to cause the penetration of substances into food in quantities that may pose a risk to human health, and
  • cause unacceptable changes in the composition of such food or
  • deterioration of its organoleptic characteristics.

Moreover, as of August 1, 2008, Commission Regulation (EC) No. 2023/2006 of December 22, 2006 on Good Manufacturing Practice - laying down the principles of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) for materials and articles intended to come into contact with food is in force.
Entities operating in the market for such materials are required to comply with the GMP requirements of Regulation 2023/2006, for this purpose they should have effective and documented quality assurance systems and an effective quality control system.

Our pizza steel meets all the above requirements, which is confirmed by the declaration of conformity we have.

In addition, our company is under constant control of the State Sanitary Inspection.
